Finding the Rhythm of Rest

Finding the Rhythm of Rest

It has been called the forgotten commandment.  But the fourth command tells us to “remember the sabbath day to keep it holy.”  But how do we implement God’s pattern for work, rest and worship into our over-scheduled lives?  This study will allow you to understand God purpose in the rest of the sabbath and take positive steps to disconnect from work and reconnect with God.

Finding the Rest of the Sabbath (Genesis 2:1-3, Exodus 20:8-11)
Pastor Jesse Waggoner shares the purpose of the Sabbath by looking at how the seven day cycle of work and rest is woven into the creation of God.

Six Days (Exodus 20:8-11)
In order to find rest and worship on the seventh day we must order our other six days to listen to the voice of God.

Finding Rest (Mark 2:23-3:6)
We can find rest for our bodies with a vacation, we can find rest for our minds with some distraction but to find rest for our souls we need Jesus.

A Time for Worship (Leviticus 23:3)
The Sabbath has always included a time of regular gathering of believers. We must continue this God-given pattern in our lives.

The Sabbath Heart (Leviticus 26)
The Sabbath displays and proves God’s desire for us to have a close and continuing relationship with Him.
